The Saltire Society has extended the deadline for entries to its annual Housing Design Awards to the 10th May.

2013 sees renowned Scottish Broadcaster and journalist Lesley Riddoch will be the awards’ guest chair for 2013.

Ms Riddoch succeeds high-profile Scottish architects Dick Cannon, John McAslan and Malcolm Fraser to the post, which will see her chair the Society’s panel of industry leaders in their assessment of housing projects from all over Scotland.

The role will also allow Ms Riddoch to award the Society’s prestigious Saltire Medal to her favourite scheme from the 2013 submissions.  Last year’s winners were the Dualchas Architects, for a portfolio of excellent work through the year.
