Outstanding Women of Scotland 2018 Nominations Open

The nominations for this years Outstanding Women of Scotland are now open.

Ten Scottish women from the fields of the arts, culture, politics, activism and science will once again be honoured and inducted into the esteemed Saltire Society ‘Outstanding Women of Scotland’ community at a special event held at Glasgow Women’s Library on 20 October.

Celebrating exceptional women from all walks of life since 2015, the ‘Outstanding Women of Scotland’ campaign celebrates everything Scotland’s women have achieved, the huge contribution they make to Scotland’s vibrant and diverse cultural life and the inspiration and examples they set for the next generation. Previous inductees include Annie Lennox, Nicola Sturgeon, Jackie Kay, Dame Sue Black, Amal Azzudin and Sarah Jane Brown.

You can propose your Outstanding Woman by completing an online form at the Saltire Society website: www.saltiresociety.org.uk/discuss-and-debate/saltire-women  or completing and posting hard copy nominations forms (which will be available from the Saltire Society and Glasgow Women’s Library) by the 15 August 2018 to The Saltire Society, 9 Fountain Close, 22 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1TF.

The 2018 Outstanding Women of Scotland will be announced at a ceremony on Saturday 20 October 2018 held at Glasgow Women’s library, which will see each of our inductees presented with a limited edition print by an emerging female printmaker.
